KARACHI: As expected, Pakistan reviewed beforehand tossed opener Ahmed Shehzad in a weak offer to reinforce their delicate batting in front of the ICC World Twenty20 title which blasts without hesitation in India from Tuesday (today).

Khurram Manzoor, who tumbled hopelessly in the as of late finished up Asia Cup, was chopped out to clear a path for the failing Shehzad, who was prior dropped from the national line-up on account of poor structure.

Haroon Rashid, the boss selector, assumed full liability for Khurram's questionable choice in the group by admitting that the move "reverse discharges".

In view of the Asia Cup exhibitions, there had been a considerable measure of pondering among the selectors at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. The top request was the primary worry with Mohammad Hafeez, Manzoor and Sharjeel Khan consolidating for only 94 keeps running in Pakistan's four diversions in the competition. To address the batting issues, the selectors brought back the accomplished Shehzad, who was prior dropped for his irregularity. He won his place back with his execution in the Pakistan Super League, where he scored 290 keeps running in ten diversions at a strike-rate of 143.56, incorporating a half-century in the last.

"The incorporation of Khurram reverse discharges and as a boss selector I assume full liability," Haroon Rasheed told Cricinfo. "Call it a mistake of judgment or whatever, yet we as a whole have seen him scoring keeps running in household cricket and we gave him a shot. He didn't snatch it, it's up to the player to legitimize his determination and for his situation he didn't. We bet on [Shoaib] Malik a year ago and it paid off.

"Presently when we glance around for why should going supplant Khurram, we don't generally have a genuine contender, yet Ahmed at any rate has some experience added to his repertoire. He showed some structure in PSL as well, else we haven't seen some other [impressive] opening batsman."

There were proposals that Salman Butt may be added to the squad however the thought was shot down; the board is not prepared to reintegrate the previous skipper into the squad so not long after the end of his boycott for spot-altering in 2010. Butt, however, is "qualified" to play universal cricket and as of late scored 536 keeps running at 107.20 to complete second most elevated run-scorer in the National One-Day Cup behind Kamran Akmal. In any case, skipper Shahid Afridi contradicted Butt's determination and that alongside the PCB's absence of enthusiasm for bringing him back as of right now implied Shehzad got approval.

There were additionally mumbles of Afridi's place in the group being referred to yet he has been held. He is set to call time on his universal profession toward the apocalypse T20 and his structure was another significant stress to leave the Asia Cup; he scored just two keeps running in two innings there, and asserted two wickets from three knocking down some pins innings, proceeding with his year-long plunge in structure (17 T20s for 173 keeps running at 12.35 and 12 wickets at 35.41). Amid the Asia Cup he remained a simple shadow of his previous self, supposedly skipping group gatherings, instructional meetings and public interviews and having his on-field captaincy investigated, particularly the way he utilized his bowlers.

PCB executive Shaharyar Khan had already alluded to an adjustment in initiative for the World T20 however with only a couple of days left for Pakistan's competition to start the board ruled against such a move. "I comprehend there is a considerable measure of feedback yet I am not going to change anything one week before the real competition in India," Khan as of late said. "Afridi will remain skipper unless he himself hauls out of the employment. He has been serving Pakistan from the most recent 15 years. There are issues in his captaincy which can't be patched, particularly during an era when his vocation is going to be end."
